Our Mission

Our mission at Afterpatch is to make gentle, effective skincare accessible to anyone with sensitive skin through honest education, full transparency, and affordable price.

In a skincare industry dominated by over-hyped ingredients and trends, finding skincare perfect for your skin is overwhelmingly difficult especially when you have sensitive skin. We aim to make the product selection process seem simple in comparison.

With an emphasis on gentleness, we avoid harsh actives in lieu for ingredients scientifically proven to soothe the skin.

Each one of our products is tailored towards one specific, clearly communicated problem. For each one of our products, we aim to provide the maximum amount of information.

This is how we create meaning and clarity within an industry filled with vague promises.

Our Origin Story

Afterpatch was founded because our founder lived the problem Afterpatch is trying to solve. As a teen with extremely sensitive skin, severe acne, and insecurity, he spent hundreds of dollars as well as hours on skincare products. Falling for marketing hype, listening to bad advice, researching, buying expensive products, testing, and cycling through products that always seemed to make things worse. he thought to himself, "Finding a good product for sensitive skin should never be this hard."

That's when Afterpatch was started.

Who are We For?

Meet the Founder

Heyo, my name is Andrew Zhao and I am the founder of Afterpatch! A "fun" fact, I like to draw and do graphic design, which is why Afterpatch was originally going to be also more focused on creating acne patches with fun designs drawn by me! Unfortunately, I am broke (as of writing this) so that is not in the question, at least not yet.

Another not so fun of a fact, I used to struggle with severe appearance issues. Most of it stemmed from my severe acne, exacerbated by my sensitive skin.

Finding the right skincare products for me was a tedious, expensive experience. I spent hundreds of hours researching every ingredient inside of every product. So, I wanted to start my own company using my knowledge so I can do right where everyone else is doing wrong because you know as they say, if you want something done right, you better do it yourself. Or let a professional handle it.

I also really like chemistry! Pretty fun stuff, mixing chemicals and (hopefully) not accidentally making a carcinogen. Creating the right product is like a problem-solving with science, and it is especially important to get it right when you have sensitive skin.
